Code of Ethics

As a member of the Alliance Renee & Meyer Luskin College-Ready Academy High School community, I will:

Treat all people with respect.
Arrive on time, in the school uniform, to all my classes; maintain a 95% attendance record; complete all assignments as instructed; and follow the directions of my teachers and the administration.
Take my academic responsibilities seriously, and work to achieve my ultimate goal of entrance to a four-year university.
Support the school policies and do my part in making the school a safe, clean, and nurturing learning environment.
Adhere to the Discipline Policies and the Code of Ethics as established by Alliance Renee & Meyer Luskin College-Ready Academy High School at all times.
NOT compromise my integrity by cheating, stealing or lying. I will exhibit behavior exemplifying honesty and pride in my social relations as well as in my academic pursuits.

Code of Conduct

Student responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

Following all rules of behavior and conduct
Respecting fellow students and school personnel
Attending classes regularly and on time
Completing all assigned work (to the best of the student’s ability)
Being prepared for class (bring materials e.g. books, homework)
Participating in all assessment measures (e.g. tests)
Respecting the property of the school and others
Keeping the campus clean
Wearing school uniform

Unacceptable student behavior include (but are not limited to) the following:

Excessive talking unrelated to instruction
Classroom disturbance
Eating in class
Horseplay/pushing/throwing/running/yelling
Bringing walkmans, radio beepers, video games, etc.
Cheating
Inappropriate use of technology and telecommunications
Use, possession or sale of alcohol, tobacco or a controlled substance.
Fighting
Possession of a knife, gun, explosive or other dangerous objects.
Destruction of school property
Theft
Failure to follow school determined of lawful directions of staff members.

Students who violate the school rules are subject, but not limited to the following penalties:

Verbal warning
Loss of privileges (e.g., detention)
A notice to parents
Conference with student/parent

Any student who engages in repeated violations of the Alliance Renee & Meyer Luskin College-Ready Academy High School behavioral will be required to attend a meeting with the school’s staff and the student’s parent. Alliance Renee & Meyer Luskin College-Ready Academy High Schoolwill prepare a specific, written remediation agreement outlining future student conduct expectations, timelines, and consequences for failure to meet the expectations.
